Before joining MSU as an Advertising Assistant Instructor, Gary Pascoe spent 30 years at some of the top advertising agencies in the country, including TRG in Dallas, TBWA/Chiat/Day in Los Angeles and BBDO in NYC/Detroit. Most recently, he spent 10 years as the Chief Creative Officer at Commonwealth//McCann, in Detroit, on Chevrolet.
Gary created the Emmy nominated "Walter the Cat" campaign for Chevy, and brought the Sopranos to the 2022 Super Bowl for the Silverado EV. Earlier in his career, he created Pennzoil's "Not just oil, Pennzoil" campaign, Levi's "Our models can beat up their models" campaign, and worked on the "Yo quiero Taco Bell" Chihuahua campaign.
Gary is an Outstanding Alumni at Michigan State University, a two time Automotive News Marketing All Star and he has won 7 Effies, 7 Cannes Lions and 11 Clios. Also, most recently, his work was nominated by the Emmys for Outstanding Commercial.
Gary, is married to Amy, lives outside of Detroit, has two teenage boys, Deano and Dylan, and has a one-eyed cat named Ralphie.
Pascoe will teach students in the Department of Advertising + Public Relations, he will focus on creative problem solving, creative storytelling, strategy and portfolio presentation.
