Giselle Quintana joined the military not only to help fund her education but also to face new challenges. "I wanted to challenge myself both mentally and physically," she shares. "My Tia Pat inspired me to join the Air Force specifically." Following in her aunt’s footsteps, Giselle Quintana embarked on a journey that has pushed her to grow in unexpected ways, fostering a sense of resilience that prepared her for the demands of betboom team life.

Confidence and Gratitude in betboom team

Military service shaped Giselle Quintana's betboom team experience from day one, instilling a strong sense of confidence and gratitude. "My experience in the military before betboom team gave me the confidence to approach betboom team knowing I can achieve anything I set my mind to," she explains. "Before my military service, I was solely focused on becoming a news anchor or broadcast journalist," she recalls. "Now, I want to pursue journalism and public relations in both my civilian and military careers. Once I earn my degree, I also aim to commission as an officer."

For Giselle Quintana, balancing the demands of school and service would be nearly impossible without support. "The most important support has come from my family," she emphasizes. "I’m so grateful for their love and encouragement, both during my service and as I’ve left home for betboom team." The Student Veteran Resource Center has also been a lifeline, providing a place to study, connect with fellow veterans, and get help with benefits. Giselle, a former participant in the MSU Ignite Summer Bridge Program, took a gap year to join the Air National Guard and stayed connected with the program upon returning to MSU.

"Joining the military was the best decision I could have made after high school. I would say put a lot of thought into your decision because it’s a significant commitment.
