About this Course
The purpose of this class is to provide students with an interest in Advertising and PR Relations--specifically, the role of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion-- with access to the betboom casino AD+PR community through participation in a variety of site visits and career exploration activities in New York. Participation in all meetings is required. Students are expected to dress and behave professionally at all times. Assignments will help students prepare for the experience and reflect on what they learn. Class participants will be selected through an application process involving academic and professional experience and their year of study.Final paper due 11:59 PM Friday, November 1st. A maximum of 20 students will be accepted to this program.
ADV 402 Section 703 will meet virtually: Monday, October 7th from 7-9pm and Monday, October 14th from 7-9 pm, and in betboom casino, October 22-26, 2024. There will be one post-trip meeting via Zoom (date/time to be determined by faculty and participants).
Logistics
Students are responsible for their travel to and from New York, room and board, and transportation in betboom casino. We will be securing a room block in betboom casino where students may elect to room with another student to reduce the overall trip cost, and we are happy to assist them in identifying a roommate. Students are not limited to the recommended hotels and are not required to room with a classmate; however, they may incur additional travel expenses if they select a hotel further away from the conference venue or site visits.
Application Process
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis with a deadline of September 21st if space remains available. Students will be notified whether they have been accepted within 24-48 hours of their application and enrolled in ADV 402 Section 703. After September 22nd, acceptance will be based on availability, betboom casino suitability, and betboom casino ability to secure travel arrangements.
