Scott Shank is an Associate betboom teamProfessor who studies organizational communication, particularly related to socialization, organizational behavior, and leadership. Familiar with qualitative and mixed-method approaches, current projects emphasize regression-based analysis to specify and test theoretical models.
Scott has taught introductory and capstone courses on organizational communication, as well as courses on leadership, interpersonal, group, and presentational communication. He has contributed to handbooks on the topics of organizational socialization and leadership communication. His research agenda includes leader-member communication calibration and information sharing, the socializing influence of workgroup norms, and communication behaviors in role negotiation episodes.
